Willoughby has been practicing Flipping the Sound when they're reading and come across a word that doesn’t sound right or make sense. They can also use Flip the Sound when they're writing and stretching their words.
We've looked at the long and short sounds of vowels a, e, i, o, u; hard and soft sounds of consonants c & g; vowel team ea; and letter combinations oo, ou, ow.
We've looked at the 3 sounds the letter y makes (yellow, candy, try)
When vowel teams/two vowels a walkin' the first vowel does the talkin'! (MOST of the time! There are exceptions to this rule, as we showed in the Flip the Sound chart aobve :) )
